TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Before you enter the competition please read competition rules below:

    1. By entering the competition and/or accepting any prize (if you are a winner), you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
    2. The outcome of the competition is subject to the decision of the judge/s and organizer(s) of the competition (and any other judging criteria), whose decision is final. No negotiations and or correspondence will be entered after the fact.
    3. The competition is open to all entrants of all ages who are permanently residing in South Africa and Namibia. Participants/entrants younger than 18 years of age, as at date of submission of the entry, shall simultaneously provide proof of consent from their parent/s or legal guardian, verifying that the entrant/s have permission to perform, compete, appear on Social Media, print and or any other marketing material related to the competition.
    4. If a contestant is currently under contract with a record label they are not permitted to enter.
    5. YOU CAN ENTER AS MANY ITEMS YOU WANT IN AS MANY GENRES AS YOU WANT. You will only go through to the next round with one song. The performance is limited to solo, duet or group singing or as a solo-instrumentalist or group. Upon entering (read: pay the nonrefundable entry fees) the entrant will receive free performance backing tracks. The entrant do not have to perform with these backing tracks. The entrant can choose any song to perform. However, the entrant is welcome to use these backing tracks for live performances but not for any other recording purposes whatsoever.
    6. Footage/work submitted for the competition must have been created to portray the talent of the entrant.
    7. The copyright of all footage/work submitted remains the property of the entrant and or creator. By entering the competition, the entrant agrees to and warrants that the creator agrees to, on an irrevocable basis, that Traxtudio and/or organizers and/or the sponsors may reproduce/ publish/display any submitted footage/ work, free of charge, for the purposes of marketing, promotion, merchandising, discussion, publications, use on television and other media, use for competition purposes or the internet. The entrant/s agree to release and hold harmless Traxtudio and/or organizers and/or the sponsors from and against any and all claims based on publicity rights, defamation, invasion of privacy, copyright infringement, trade-mark infringement or any other intellectual property related cause of action.
    8. SIZE REQUIREMENTS: Footage submitted may not be longer than 120 seconds to a maximum of 500mb in size.
    9. Entries may be uploaded and submitted via Facebook or as a voice note or video via WhatsApp.
    10. The Quarter- and Semi- Finalists will be notified by email.
    11. The names of the quarter finalists, semi-finalists and finalists will either be posted on www.traxtudio.co.za and/or on Facebook.
    12. All entrants must present a professional image. Any entrant that is uncooperative, under the influence of drugs or alcohol, uses profanity, in appropriately dressed or displays any action perceived unacceptable by Traxtudio and/or the event organizers, will be disqualified immediately and removed from the premises.
    13. Any performance not suited for a family audience will be disqualified. Explicit language, swearing or suggestive lyrics or actions will result in disqualification.
    14. The use of machetes, knives, fire or pyrotechnics will not be permitted. Any objects used in acts may not be thrown off the performance stage.
    15. Performers must be present on their scheduled competition date at least two hours (120 minutes) prior to the show time. Acts not present prior to the show time may be at risk for disqualification.
    16. The overall winner will be announced at the final (gala) event, held at Mall of Africa.
    17. Prizes won are not transferable, nor can it be exchanged for cash. Prizes can also be changed during the course of the competition and may vary.
    18. Entrants enter and take part in the competition at their own risk and Traxtudio, event organizers and event hosts bear no responsibility for any loss, damage or harm suffered because of participation in any part of the competition;
    19. Entrants will be responsible for their own transport to and from the event venue, meals and beverages during all rounds of the competition.
    20. Traxtudio reserves the right to disqualify any entrant suspected of fraud, cheating including without limitation through the manipulation of codes or otherwise falsifying data.
    21. Entries which contain errors will be invalid.
    22. Any entries received after the closing date will not be eligible to participate in the competition, regardless of the reason for the late entry. Traxtudio and/or event organisers is not liable for any technical failure that may result in an entry not being successfully submitted. All entry fees are non-refundable. This is applicable only if the entrant did not RSVP for the live audition one day prior the quarter final event.
    23. Winners will need to produce proof of identity (a valid Identity Document/Driver’s License or Passport. In event that the entrant is under 18, a birth certificate will also be accepted with his/her parent/ guardians Identity Document/Passport/Driver’s license) at the venue.
    24. Winners under the age of 18 may be asked to produce a consent form or letter from a legal parent, guardian that certifies that they have permission to perform, compete and appear on radio, print and or any other marketing material/channels related to the competition. Even in instances where this consent is not requested explicitly or in writing, this content is irrevocably implied by the organizers of the competition, and given by the legal guardian of parent(s) of the entrant.
    25. All expenses related to traveling and or accommodation for entrants/ participants (and their family members) to attend the finals (and any other round of the competition) will be for the entrants’ own account.
    26. Judge’s decisions are final and no deliberations, negotiations or communications will be entered into, once winners have been announced.
    27. Traxtudio reserves the right, in its reasonable discretion, to add to, amend, or waive any of the Competition Rules, including but not limited to, extending or reducing the duration of the competition.
    28. The compulsory entry fee for the competition is R200,00 (two hundred South African Rands) per entry and is non-refundable. If you wish to enter more than one genre, it will be an additional R50,00 (fifty South African Rands) per genre.
    29. Should a contestant, whom was chosen as a quarter finalist, not be able to attend the regional quarter final round at a specific mall, the adjudicating panel can, solely on its own discretion and on merit, decide to put the quarter finalist through to the semi-finals (based on the submitted video performance only).
    30. All backing tracks (audio accompaniment tracks) during any part of the competition must be supplied on flash disk in mp3-format (at least 128kbps, Stereo) and handed in two hours prior the event. Should any other form of accompaniment be required, I.e. keyboard or guitar, only ONE instrument (as accompaniment) per entry is allowed. All equipment/instruments must be supplied by the participant/entrant.
    31. The organizers of the competition is not responsible for any failure to perform its obligations under this agreement, if it is prevented or delayed in performing those obligations by an event of force majeure such as, but not limited to, an act of God such as, but not limited to, fires, explosions, earthquakes, drought, tidal waves, floods, pandemics; accident, riots, war, terrorist act, epidemic, pandemic, quarantine, civil commotion, natural catastrophes, governmental acts or omissions, changes in laws or regulations.
